The Alliance for American Leadership offers legislative/policy, communications, and political strategy internships. All internships are unpaid, volunteer roles. Interns may work virtually or in-person in Washington, DC. Full position descriptions are included at the bottom of this page. If you are interested in applying for an internship, please join one of our weekly online interviews.
We hold interviews every Wednesday and Friday. You will introduce yourself, talk about your background, and ask our team anything you want to know. No preparation is needed. All times are in Eastern (New York) time.

Senior Staff / Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering as a policy advisor, government affairs advisor, communications advisor, or political consultant on our team, please join one of our weekly group interviews described above. Likewise, if you’re not sure how you want to help yet, but want to learn more, please join one of the interviews. These sessions are the fastest way to get acquainted with what we do and join our team.
If you would prefer not to attend one of the group interview sessions, you can email outreach@A4AL.org to introduce yourself and describe how you want to support the team.
Advisory Board

Advisory Board Members are business and government leaders who donate or raise $1,000 or more a quarter for the Alliance and support strategic decision-making. Members are also invited to private events with Members of Congress and are featured on our website. We hold optional Advisory Board meetings every two months.
Members of our Advisory Board include former USAID Administrator Brian Atwood, former Congressman Tim Mahoney, Wesleyan University President Michael Roth, diplomats, veterans, lawyers, and business leaders across healthcare, technology, finance, development, government affairs, and defense.
