WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan political action committee advocating for U.S. diplomacy, development, and humanitarian assistance, today endorsed Congressman Bill Keating (D-Mass.) for reelection in Massachusetts’ 9th Congressional District, citing his leadership on foreign affairs, commitment to rebuilding U.S. foreign-assistance capacity, and support for diplomacy and development as essential tools of American national security.
Keating, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees, has consistently defended USAID and U.S. foreign assistance. In February 2025, he strongly criticized cuts to foreign aid, warning they undermine U.S. credibility and weaken global stability efforts.
For Keating, America’s humanitarian leadership is rooted in both national interests and the country’s values. “I strongly believe that America’s responsibility to humanitarian leadership is rooted in the values of ordinary Americans to help others in a time of need,” Keating wrote in his A4AL questionnaire. “I believe America must lead rather than step back from humanitarian leadership.”
“Congressman Keating understands that American strength requires more than military power. It requires the diplomatic and development capabilities that allow us to prevent crises before they become wars,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of the Alliance for American Leadership. “His support for rebuilding U.S. foreign-assistance capacity, investing in diplomacy and development, strengthening locally led programs, and protecting American national security reflects exactly the kind of experienced leadership we need in Congress. We are proud to endorse his reelection and mobilize our movement behind him.”
