WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens, today endorsed Congressman French Hill (R-Ark.) for reelection in Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional District, citing his support for lifesaving foreign-assistance programs, international financial institutions, and American leadership in countering global security threats..
Hill, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, has advocated for maintaining strategically focused international assistance that advances U.S. national-security interests while delivering measurable benefits to American taxpayers. In his A4AL endorsement questionnaire, Hill supported maintaining foreign-assistance spending at approximately 1% of the federal budget and emphasized continued investment in global health, food security, and emergency disease response, including the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)..
“America’s soft power is essential to countering extremism, terrorism, and our adversaries,” Hill wrote in his questionnaire. “I support continuing lifesaving foreign assistance and focus on mutual benefits like English language and law enforcement.”
Hill's commitment to international engagement extends to his leadership on the House Financial Services Committee, where he has supported strengthening multilateral financial institutions, including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and Inter-American Development Bank. He has also advocated for programs addressing human trafficking, food insecurity, and infectious diseases, emphasizing their role in promoting stability and reducing the conditions that contribute to extremism.
