WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congressman Greg Landsman (D-Ohio) for reelection in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, citing his legislative work on humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, support for international security partnerships, and opposition to reductions in foreign-assistance funding.
Landsman has made the recovery of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia a central focus of his international humanitarian work. His bipartisan Abducted Ukrainian Children Recovery and Accountability Act, enacted as part of the fiscal year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, supports U.S. assistance to Ukraine in identifying, tracking, and recovering abducted children. The legislation followed his efforts to restore a State Department-supported program that had been discontinued earlier in 2025.
“We can’t wait for a peace agreement to bring these children home,” Landsman said in a December 2025 statement. “That’s why this data is so critical, and why we won’t stop until every child is reunited with their family and back where they belong.”
Landsman opposed foreign assistance funding cuts in the Rescissions Act of 2025 and supported the 2026 Ukraine Support Act to deliver further aid and sanctions. In the Middle East, he advocated for Gaza reconstruction, regional cooperation following the October 2025 ceasefire, and a negotiated two-state solution.
“Congressman Landsman's work on behalf of abducted Ukrainian children demonstrates how American diplomacy and international assistance can make a tangible difference in people's lives,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of the Alliance for American Leadership. “His efforts to restore critical humanitarian capabilities, support Ukraine, and maintain American engagement abroad reflect the importance of sustained U.S. leadership. A4AL is proud to recognize his commitment to using diplomacy and international partnerships to address humanitarian crises.”
