WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congressman John Mannion (D-N.Y.) for reelection in New York's 22nd Congressional District, citing his opposition to reductions in foreign-assistance funding, support for Ukraine, and commitment to congressional accountability and responsible American leadership abroad.
His congressional record reflects an understanding that American security and prosperity are connected to international stability, strong alliances, and responsible engagement abroad.
In June 2025, Mannion voted against the Rescissions Act, which withdrew approximately $9 billion in previously approved federal funding, including resources supporting foreign assistance and international development programs. He subsequently opposed the fiscal year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, demonstrating his opposition to the legislation's foreign-affairs funding framework. Mannion has also demonstrated support for America's democratic partners through his congressional voting record.
In June 2026, he voted for the Ukraine Support Act, which included additional security and reconstruction assistance for Ukraine alongside measures targeting key sectors of the Russian economy.
His vote reinforced congressional support for Ukraine's ability to defend its sovereignty against Russian aggression and rebuild communities affected by the conflict. These votes reflect his support for using American economic and security tools to respond to international threats and reinforce the security of democratic partners.
