WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congressman Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) for reelection in Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District, citing his leadership in protecting international humanitarian assistance, advancing global health initiatives, and defending American investments in disease prevention, food security, and international development.

Representing south-central Wisconsin since 2013 and serving on the House Appropriations Committee since 2017, Pocan is a leading advocate for public health and humanitarian aid. As Chair of the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, he championed international health initiatives and led 35 colleagues in November 2025 urging the UN to preserve UNAIDS through 2030. Additionally, in July 2025, he co-led an effort with 49 lawmakers opposing the withholding and destruction of nearly 500 metric tons of emergency food aid.

“Destroying aid that could save lives undermines that legacy and damages our standing in the international community,” Pocan and his fellow lead signatories wrote on the July 2025 letter.

In September 2025, Pocan co-led an effort urging the administration to deliver promised mpox vaccines to African countries during active outbreaks, reinforcing his commitment to global public health security.
