WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congressman Tim Kennedy (D-N.Y.) for reelection in New York's 26th Congressional District, citing his opposition to foreign-assistance cuts, support for Ukraine, and leadership in protecting the United States' longstanding diplomatic and economic relationship with Canada.

Representing Western New York, Kennedy has prioritized international cooperation and economic security since entering Congress in May 2024, serving on the House Homeland Security and Veterans' Affairs Committees.

As co-chair of the bipartisan Northern Border Caucus, he advocates for strong U.S.–Canada relations, leading a February 2025 effort signed by 60 House Democrats urging the administration to reverse tariffs on Canada.

“Canada is not our competitor nor our adversary, it is our closest ally and trading partner,” Kennedy and his colleagues wrote, underscoring the importance of maintaining strong bilateral ties.

Kennedy consistently opposed foreign aid cuts, voting against the 2025 Rescissions Act and the FY2027 State and Foreign Operations appropriations bill. He also supported the 2026 Ukraine Support Act, backing security assistance and economic measures against Russia to uphold democratic stability.
