WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (D-Md.) for reelection in Maryland's 6th Congressional District, citing her commitment to strengthening American diplomatic leadership, protecting international humanitarian assistance, supporting democratic allies, and advancing a foreign policy grounded in cooperation, accountability, and national security.
Before entering Congress, McClain Delaney served as Deputy Administrator of the NTIA at the U.S. Department of Commerce, founded Common Sense Media’s D.C. division, and served on the International Center for Research on Women board.
A long-time advocate for international engagement, McClain Delaney champions a foreign policy that combines robust diplomatic relations, strategic foreign assistance, strong democratic alliances, and military readiness to advance global stability and American security. She has backed these principles in Congress by consistently opposing cuts to international development, humanitarian programs, and foreign-affairs funding framework.
“I do not support providing a blank check to any government, and U.S. assistance must be consistent with our laws, interests, and values,” McClain Delaney said in a July 15 statement.
Her position underscores the importance of ensuring that American assistance serves legitimate security objectives while protecting humanitarian programs and maintaining appropriate congressional oversight.
“Congresswoman April McClain Delaney understands that effective American leadership requires a combination of strong diplomacy, responsible international assistance, and lasting partnerships with democratic allies,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of the Alliance for American Leadership. “Her opposition to foreign-assistance cuts, support for Ukraine, and commitment to maintaining America's international alliances reflect the principles that guide A4AL's mission. We are proud to endorse her continued leadership in Congress.”
