WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.) for reelection in Colorado's 7th Congressional District.
The endorsement highlights Pettersen's record on foreign aid, support for Ukraine, and efforts targeting international illicit finance and drug cartels. A Jefferson County native and former decade-long state legislator, she has represented Colorado's 7th District since 2023.
In Congress, Pettersen opposed foreign-aid spending cuts, including the June 2025 Rescissions Act and the FY 2027 State Department Appropriations Act. She also sponsored the September 2026 Fentanyl Sanctions Reauthorization Act to combat drug trafficking using financial enforcement tools. The legislation reflects her focus on financial tools as part of the federal response to drug trafficking and organized criminal networks. Pettersen has also emphasized the importance of consistent legal standards in American foreign policy.
In a July 2026 joint statement with fellow Colorado Representatives Jason Crow, Diana DeGette, and Joe Neguse, Pettersen called for a different approach to U.S. foreign policy. “The status quo is not tenable. We need a different path forward for America's foreign policy rooted in values and consistent application of the law,” the lawmakers stated.
“Brittany Pettersen understands that American leadership isn’t charity—it’s strategy,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of the Alliance for American Leadership. “She fought the cuts to our foreign assistance, stood with Ukraine, and went after the illicit finance behind drug cartels that hurt our communities. We’re proud to endorse her reelection.”
