WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan PAC advocating for U.S. diplomacy, development, and humanitarian assistance, today endorsed Congressman Don Beyer (D-Va.) for reelection in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District, citing his leadership in defending USAID, protecting federal workers, strengthening U.S. diplomacy and development, and fighting to preserve Congress’s constitutional power of the purse.

Beyer has been a leading defender of USAID, speaking out against efforts to dismantle the agency and joining more than 200 House Democrats to protect Congress’s constitutional authority over foreign assistance.

Warning that undermining USAID damages U.S. national security and global influence, Beyer has also highlighted the local impact on Virginia’s 8th District, which is home to tens of thousands of federal employees and contractors affected by funding freezes and job losses.
