FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan PAC led by Gen Z advocates, announced its endorsement of Congressman Joe Morelle today for reelection in New York’s 25th Congressional District. A4AL is backing Morelle for his steady leadership in Congress to protect vital U.S. foreign aid, rebuild global humanitarian programs, and ensure agencies like USAID have the resources needed to prevent international instability.
Rochester and Monroe County play a direct role in American global engagement, serving as home to major refugee resettlement efforts, Peace Corps volunteers, and local institutions connected to international development. Morelle has consistently defended these investments in Washington, voting against the Rescissions Act of 2025 and pushing back on attempts to dismantle USAID. “Congress must not walk away from commitments it has made to lifesaving humanitarian and international assistance programs,” Morelle wrote.
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Morelle supports expanding diplomacy and development funding toward 2% of the federal budget. He views foreign assistance as both a moral obligation and a practical necessity for national security. “As a Catholic, my faith informs my belief in the inherent dignity of every person,” Morelle explained, noting that U.S. leadership abroad helps preserve human rights and stability before crises escalate.
“Congressman Morelle understands that foreign assistance is an investment in American security, American economic strength, and American leadership,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of A4AL. “His support for restoring USAID, increasing our investment in diplomacy and development, and addressing instability before it becomes war reflects the kind of leadership our movement is fighting for. We are proud to endorse his reelection and mobilize our coalition behind him.”
The Alliance for American Leadership is a coalition of more than 2,000 volunteers and 100,000 Substack subscribers, including veterans, former USAID employees, students, and citizens dedicated to diplomacy and development. Interns at the PAC make over 6,000 phone calls a day for endorsed candidates, and the team is committed to mobilizing a new generation of foreign policy leaders.
