WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a bipartisan coalition of 150,000 veterans, students, and citizens today endorsed Luke Bronin, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Connecticut's 1st Congressional District, citing his experience in national security, international diplomacy, and public service, as well as his commitment to restoring American leadership abroad.
A former Hartford mayor, Navy Reserve intelligence officer, and senior Treasury official, Bronin served in Afghanistan and helped implement international sanctions against Iran.
“America is stronger and Americans are better off when we have strong relationships with our allies, and when we dedicate ourselves to the hard but vital work of diplomacy,” said Bronin. “In Congress, I hope to do my part to help rebuild our alliances and reestablish the United States as a force for stability, responsibility, and human freedom and dignity around the world.”
Bronin's experience in international affairs and national security will make him a strong and credible voice for addressing global challenges through coordinated international action.
“Luke Bronin understands that American leadership is strongest when we combine national-security expertise with effective diplomacy and international cooperation,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of the Alliance for American Leadership. “From his military service in Afghanistan to his work building international coalitions and advancing diplomatic solutions, Bronin has demonstrated the experience and judgment needed to strengthen America's relationships abroad. His commitment to rebuilding alliances and restoring responsible U.S. engagement reflects the principles that guide A4AL's mission.”
