WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL), a PAC working to restore U.S. foreign humanitarian aid, endorsed Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-Wash.) for reelection in Washington’s 10th Congressional District, citing her commitment to restoring U.S. foreign assistance, protecting USAID, strengthening American national security, and advancing diplomacy and humanitarian leadership.
Strickland has publicly called for restoring USAID and its funding and pledged to vote for and protect robust funding for the agency. She also opposed the Rescissions Act of 2025, which cut previously approved foreign assistance programs.
Strickland supports A4AL’s “Two Penny Pledge” to allocate 2% of the federal budget to diplomacy and development, noting that investments in global health, food security, and aid reduce instability and protect U.S. interests.
She noted that USAID cuts harm Washington’s economy including local farmers, ports, and schools and warned that reducing aid weakens national security and allows rivals like China and Russia to expand their influence.
“Congresswoman Strickland understands that diplomacy, development, and humanitarian assistance are part of how America protects its interests and leads abroad,” said Asher Moss, founder and executive director of A4AL. “From supporting Washington farmers and port workers to protecting our service members and countering the influence of China and Russia, she understands that effective foreign assistance makes America stronger and safer. We are proud to endorse her reelection and mobilize our movement behind her.”
The Alliance for American Leadership is a coalition of more than 2,000 volunteers and 100,000 Substack subscribers, including veterans, former USAID employees, students, and citizens dedicated to diplomacy and development. Interns at the PAC make over 6,000 phone calls a day for endorsed candidates, and the team is committed to mobilizing a new generation of foreign policy leaders.
