Dr. Mark D. Miller brings 30 years of comprehensive healthcare experience—from bedside to boardroom—to his commentary on nursing policy and healthcare advocacy issues. As a Board-certified Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Director of Government Affairs for the Tennessee Nurses Association, and Assistant Professor at both King University and Vanderbilt University, Dr. Miller offers unique insights at the intersection of clinical practice, education, and policy development. He currently serves as the Board Director for Government Affairs at the Tennessee Nurses Association and is an active member of the American Nurses Association's Virtual Nursing Professional Issues Panel. He also sits on the Vanderbilt University Alumni Advisory Board. In addition to his academic and policy work, Dr. Miller is a healthcare entrepreneur and owner of a telehealth practice. His professional background includes experience as a healthcare executive with CEO-level leadership. He is also the author of the forthcoming book, Nursing Advocacy: Beyond the Bedside (2025).
