Rodney Archer is a Tennessee native. He holds a master’s degree in foreign affairs and diplomacy from the Open University of Catalonia and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Tennessee. He is currently a registered representative at NY Life and a partner in Nashville’s Integrated Strategy Group, a strategic management consultancy firm that focuses on public affairs initiatives and business enterprise projects. Previously, Archer was Executive Director of the County Officials Association of Tennessee in Nashville, an advocacy organization that provides training, education, and assistance to its members. Archer also served as Anderson County, TN Trustee for County Government, overseeing all public funds, tax collections, and banking relationships. He held executive management positions, both elected and appointed, and worked with state, local, and federal officials, and engaged with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors. Archer’s roles helped to define him as a diplomatic leader, and his public affairs and board consensus strategies led to transformative initiatives under his leadership. Archer’s humanitarian efforts have included supporting Cuban and Syrian refugees, advocacy and sponsorship for an Iranian couple to receive their visas, and he and his wife enrolled in the Welcome Corps program to sponsor a refugee family to come to the United States. He has also volunteered with the USAid’s Farmer to Farmer Program in Guinea, West Africa. While a junior in college, Archer was the youngest elected official in Tennessee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Museum of Appalachia (a Smithsonian affiliate), MultiFaith Alliance, and the Advisory Board for Tennessee Members 1st Federal Credit Union.
